The half marathon training team I’m helping coach has 26 miles scheduled over the course of the week. This is the most weekly mileage we’ll run under the half marathon training program.
I’ve been breaking the weekly mileage into three runs: two during the weekdays and the “long” run on the weekend with the team. In this episode, I talk about my efforts in getting through a 7 miler in the middle of the week. I also talk about how I dealt with encountering some unexpected road kill and running in the deep South.

Dave: Enjoyed the mailbag portion of the show and thanks for mentioning my comments.
Garmin 405 still working well. I did take off the Virtual Partner, though. I couldn’t keep up with him. [smile]
An idea for a future show [if you haven’t already done it] might be for folks to send in their favorite running trail. Also, why they like it.
Ran 8.5 on Saturday and came back with 4.5 on Sunday. Felt pretty good. Weather was cool and that made all the difference.

Man, I’m behind on my podcasts. Liked the armadillo story, we had a skunk a couple weeks ago at the YMCA, but he was just hanging out on the soccer field.
I have the 405 also, & noticed it becomes possessed when I sweat alot (screen switching at random). I found a feature that solves that problem. If you push the two right side button at the same time, you can lock the screen. You can still work the buttons (laps & start/stop). Not sure if anyone else has had this problem.
