Episode #24 - Fast Forward to Marathon Training

August 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Sometimes two training programs have to overlap in order to achieve a specific running goal. In this podcast, I talk about how I had to join a marathon training program already in progress in order to meet my marathon goal in November. I also ramble about a few other things…

    Hey Dave,

I enjoyed the podcast, especially the OBX marathon mention. I’m trying to get more focused on it now that the long runs are getting up there. Looking forward to the Patrick Henry half next weekend! Just hoping for decent weather! The earlier start should help. That’s great that you’re running with one the training team members.

On the shoe issue you’re having, I’ve had success with rotating 2 pairs at a time. They seem to last longer for me that way…I think I’ve read that the midsole needs time to spring back after a run so it helps to not run consecutive days in the same pair. I think that might help with letting them dry out all the way too. I’ve heard that it’s a good idea to rotate two diferent models but I haven’t tried that.

See you on Thursday for happy hour! Kelly
