Strolling Jim 40 Mile Run - Episode #60

On May 2, Tom & I ran the Strolling Jim ultra marathon. In its 31st year, the Strolling Jim event is the second longest 'running' ultra in the country. In this podcast, I talk about the experience.

DVDs of the event are available for $5. All proceeds to benefit Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES). Email me at ashlanddave@gmail.com for more information.

Hey Dave. Great race report. Sorry to hear that you had problems with the weather and I’m sure that threw off your mental state. I’m very glad to hear that you toughed it out and finished the race. You even did it well within your 9-hour limit. Congratulations! If you’re looking for a 50-miler in the fall (this year or next year), we have the Tussey Mountainback Ultramarathon and 50-mile relay in my town. I did the relay last year and it was the most fun I’ve had at a race.

Hey Dave, As usual, I was inspired by your report. Do NOT blame yourself or your training for what happened that day - the fact that you made it through is a testament to your courage and preparation. That’s what’s so humbling about endurance sports - no matter what we do to prepare, it’s ultimately not in out hands. Congratulations on an inspirational and courageous run, Shelly
