I pulled the very first episode of the podcast from the vault and decided to put it out again with some parallel commentary. This episode marks the 3rd year of the show.

I’m a new listener, I focus on shorter distances. I found your podcast through iTunes. I’m a slow, back of the pack runner from northern CA. I’m in a teeny tiny wide spot in the road called Rescue. We are about 35 miles east of Sacramento. I never really thought about ultra running until Steve Runner mentioned it on Pheddipidations (spl?) So, then I searched for that on iTunes, and voila, there you were. As soon as I can actually run the hills in my neighborhood I will start to focus on longer distances. I prefer trails to roads, I have always run in very inexpensive shoes, like the one’s at Wal Mart, they have hardly any support whatsoever. I listen to lots of podcasts and music too.

I really like your podcast, keep up the good work,

Congrats Dave on reaching the three year mark. For a podcast, that’s impressive; for a podcast about running, it’s more than amazing.

btw - anyone planning on doing any of the North Face events this year? I know registration has opened up, and I was wondering if you, Rodney or Tom were going to be making it back down to the Pine Mountain race. If you do, I definitely would like to shake your hand before the 50 miler starts. Really looking forward to running that one this year, and hopefully without breaking my hand again..

    Dave - me again…

Just listened to the 1st episode throwback show, which I had never heard before. All I can say about it is Wow, you’ve come a LONG way, brother! For it to be only 3 years old, I swear I envision you recording that Episode 1 sitting around in a butterfly collar disco shirt and bell bottom flower pants. Where DID you get that show intro music???

    Awesome, man. Awesome! LMAO
