For only the second time in my marathoning experience, I drove to a race by myself without knowing anyone else who was running the same event. Usually, I like to experience these things with others but this time was a little different. I had a great time at the Piedmont 8 Hour Run and I'll likely do it again just for the great lunch!

This is part 2 of the same conversation with Ashland Tom and Ashland Bryan regarding Tom's DNF at a 100 miler.

Ashland Tom covered 81.2 miles on the Pine Creek trail in northern Pennsylvania. The only problem was the race was 100 miles so he was a DNF. Tom's not too sad about it as he's already planning to try again. This episode is about Tom and his post race analysis of his effort. The show will be in two parts. Thanks for listening.

Along with my Ashland running buddies, I ran the 10th annual Patrick Henry Half Marathon. Not my best effort but I made it to the finish line after coming close to quitting. This show has a race report from that and some commentary about standing/sitting/kneeling when our national anthem is played.

This show also has some final thoughts before I head out to help Ashland Tom run the Pine Creek Challenge 100 mile ultramarathon in Pennsylvania.

Ashland Tom and I did the Dahlgren Heritage Rail Trail 50k on August 6, 2016 in King George, Virginia. 

We finished but it was ugly. I made some rookie mistakes with foot care and am paying for it now. At least my nipples didn't bleed. At this point I'm not sure which is worse.

I spent a few weeks in Italy with my immediate and extended families. Lots of audio clips in this episode about our adventures. I took three weeks off from work. I've never been off that long. I highly recommend it even if you don't go anywhere!

This is one of the first podcasts I produced. It's pretty bad production wise but the interview content with Tom Grant is great. You have to be a real fan of the podcast to suffer through this one!
